Equator adds account director with U.K. retailer experience
Global branding and packaging design company Equator Design has named Kate Fischer as an account director, specializing in retail strategy, consumer behavior and sustainable packaging.
Equator works with retailer’s on private brand packaging designs and more, and Fischer will be responsible for the strategic development of branded and private brand consumer goods accounts. Matt Caldwell, recently named managing director at Equator, as well as a frequent contributor to Store Brands, applauded the hiring of Fischer and what she brings to private brand design.
“Her proven track record and demonstrable talent within own brand packaging design and branding will be an invaluable asset,” he said. “Her creativity and strategic capabilities make her the ideal individual to work closely with our retail partners in the provision of strategic brand creation, innovative brand identities and outstanding on shelf outcomes.”
Fischer comes to the agency from serving as an account director at Equator’s parent company SGK, and before that held senior positions at Sun Branding Solutions, and in roles working on strategy and design process management at U.K. retailer ASDA and Morrisons. She holds an advanced degree in design management from New York’s Pratt Institute and spent early years working in art direction and graphic design for brands such as Macy’s and Avon.
