Macy's Names New Customer, Digital Officer

Massimo Magni will oversee the digital operations, including e-commerce, loyalty programs, mobile apps and more, for the legacy retailer.

Department retailer Macy’s has tapped Massimo (Max) Magni as its chief customer and digital officer.

In this role, Magni will oversee the long-term vision and growth of Macy’s, Inc.’s digital business, “aligned on customer-centric strategies.” This includes the company’s e-commerce sites, mobile apps, marketplace, loyalty, and gift registry programs.

Magni will enter the role on Monday, Aug. 21 and report to Macy’s President and CEO-elect Tony Spring.

Prior to joining Macy’s, Magni spent more than 20 years at McKinsey & Company, where he most recently served as a senior partner co-leading McKinsey’s NeXT Commerce and the global leader of the Consumer Growth Practices. He has a B.S. in International Economics from Università Commerciale Luigi Bocconi and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
