Kroger Showcases Store Brands as Smart Back-to-School Choices
As part of its back-to-school push, The Kroger Co. is touting its lineup of store brands as ideal for student snacks and lunches.
Kroger has launched a Big Deal! back-to-school promotion with lunchroom and classroom supplies starting at 39 cents. In addition, the Cincinnati-based company has introduced the Kroger Back to School List, an online tool that gives parents access to supply lists issued by teachers from local schools across the United States.
In line with that rollout, Kroger has developed its own lists of private label products that the company developed to help parents put together school lunches from what it’s calling Big Deal! packs. They include:
- Kroger Oven Roasted Turkey Breast or Black Forest Ham, 16 ounces, and Kroger Brand Soft Wheat Sandwich Bread
- Kroger Creamy Peanut Butter, 64 ounces
- Kroger Chewy Chocolate Chip Granola Bars, 36-count package
- Simple Truth No Sugar Added Freeze-Dried Strawberries, 2 ounces
- Kroger Potato Chip Variety Pack, 18-count package
- Simple Truth Organic Unsweetened Applesauce Cups, 18-count package
- Kroger Fruit Cups Three Flavor Variety Pack, 24-count package
- Simple Truth Organic Fruit Snacks, 20-count package
Kroger also suggests keeping lunchtime fresh with fuss-free fruits and veggies that come with a quality guarantee and that kids will actually eat, such as Kroger Brand Carrots, Celery, Broccoli and Ranch Dip Snack Trays; Honeycrisp Apples. and Private Selection Mini Seedless Cucumbers.
“Back-to-school is a busy time of year, and we do all that we can to make the shopping inexpensive and convenient,” said Mike Murphy, Kroger’s group VP of center store merchandising. “That means customers can easily get school supplies, lunch staples and dinner solutions all at Kroger, any way they shop and at an incredible value. We’ve lowered prices on thousands of items that our customers love and need most, including school supplies, because shopping for your family should be easy and affordable.”
