During its Back-to-School-idays savings event, Target is offering 30% off backpacks from the company’s All in Motion and Cat & Jack brands.

Back-to-School-idays is the latest savings event from Target, running from July 27 to Aug. 2 and featuring discounts of up to 30% on key products for students, such as select backpacks, kids' apparel, classroom essentials and lunch storage items.

This year, however, the Minneapolis-based mass merchandiser plans to expand on in-store experiences and giveaways to make back-to-school shopping more enjoyable and affordable.

“Getting ready for a new school year should be an exciting time for families,” said Rick Gomez, Target EVP and chief commercial officer. “That's why I'm proud of the way the Target team has leaned in to create an experience that’s fun, stylish and affordable. With great deals on essentials, fun personalization events in hundreds of stores and even more savings for Target Circle members, we’re ready to help families everywhere get the new school year off to a great start.”

Back-to-School-idays deals include:

  • 25% off select kids’ apparel, including tees, tanks, shorts, uniforms, activewear, leggings and polos
  • 30% off select kids’ shoes
  • 30% off backpacks from Target’s All in Motion and Cat & Jack brands
  • 20% off select Bentgo and Thermos lunch items
  • 20% off Hanes socks and underwear
  • Buy one, get one 25% off BIC and Pilot products, with membership in the free-to-join Target Circle membership program.

Shoppers who spend $50 on home care, including such products as up&up classroom essentials and cleaning wipes, will receive a $15 Target GiftCard with Target Circle membership.

Additionally, as it previously revealed, Target is holding 2024 prices on its list of 20 must-have supplies and on last year’s top-selling $5 backpack. The company is also stocking more than 1,000 items under $5, including 25-cent crayons and glue sticks, $2 water bottles, and $5 wired headphones.

In select locations, shoppers will be able to customize school and dorm essentials, including backpacks, lunchboxes, towels and pillows with embroidery, patches, and other add-ons. Due to the popularity of last year’s customizing events, and customer requests for more, Target will provide personalization station events in almost 500 stores, double the number of locations last year. It also will host 100 college-focused events in stores on July 26 and 400 back-to-school style events Aug. 2-3.

Further, the company will launch giveaways of shoelace kits, school-themed patches, monogrammed bath wraps, and more. Tech demos in select stores will feature the latest headphones from Target’s Heyday brand, along with curated playlists.
