Island Pacific intros Filipino-flavored creamers

Island Pacific is adding Filipino-inspired creamers to its newly expanded store brand program. The retailer just launched a range of new private brand products at the start of the new year, including fresh meats, ice cream and banana chips.

The Walnut, Calif.-based retailer operates 16 stores in California and Las Vegas that are dedicated to Filipino foods. The new creamers fit right in, inspired by Philippine flavors such as a Manila Mango creamer, Ube creamer and Buko Pandan creamer. The creamers are under the Island Pacific name and can be added directly to a can of condensed milk for a convenient beverage.

"When we develop products bearing the Island Pacific brand, the product must at least be equal, if not better, than the leading brand in that product category. Island Pacific will never sacrifice quality to reduce cost,” said Maricel Aguilar, R&D director of Island Pacific. “As Island Pacific is the first to launch this kind of product in the market, there were no comparisons, but it spells convenience for our community and has an authentic Filipino taste. We also made sure we had it manufactured by a trusted manufacturer in the industry."

The Island Pacific flavored creamers can be used in recipes too, making traditional dishes like Yema, Ube Spread, Pastillas, Halo-Halo, Ube Cake, Mango Tango Cake, Candies, Ube Leche Flan and Filipino-flavored frosting.
