Island Pacific rolls out new private brand, exclusive products
Filipino food-focused supermarket chain Island Pacific is starting the new year with a slate of new private label products, as well as the addition of several exclusive brands.
The chain’s new private label products, sold under its Island Select brand, include Sea Grapes, such fresh meat as Cebuchon Lechon Belly and Galbi Korean Beef Short Rubs, various flavors of Glazed Banana Thins and a selection of private label oils. The banana chips are sold in original, salted, chocolate and cinnamon flavors, and the oil varieties include vegetable, canola and corn oil in 88-oz. packaging.
On the exclusive brand side, Island Pacific is adding ice cream from Arce Dairy, whose carabao milk-made ice cream includes such Philippine flavors as ube, macapuno, ube macapuno and queso real, as well as such standard favorites as chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, coffee crumble and mango. Another new exclusive is Muhlach Ensaymada, a type of Filipino sweet pastry dough covered with butter, sugar and grated cheese.
Island Pacific also has bulked up its e-commerce capabilities. The chain offers online shopping that includes same-day grocery delivery and curbside pickup.
Walnut, Calif.-based Island Pacific operates 16 stores in California and Las Vegas.
