Albertsons releases wine advent calendar

The Albertsons’ Own Brands team has put together an advent calendar of exclusive wines. The calendar box includes 24 mini bottles of wine, sourced from subregions like Paso Robles, Calif., and Willamette, Ore.

The retailer has all of the wines listed in a digital calendar to give shoppers more information about each winery and varietal chosen for each of the 24 days. 

The store brands team announced the calendar with a "‘Twas the Night Before Christmas"-inspired poem.

Discounter Aldi has been known to have shoppers lined up outside for a chance at its range of advent calendars that span chocolates, wine, pet treats and more, so the items have become big holiday offerings for retailers. Kroger has a wine advent calendar and last year Safeway had an exclusive wine calendar. Lidl has advent calendars, as does Costco and other retailers.
