Walmart gears up for Christmas with gingerbread houses

Walmart is touting its collection of gingerbread houses, including two from its Marketside own brand.

Walmart is joining a number of other retailers by showcasing its collection of gingerbread house kits ahead of the Christmas holiday, including two that are exclusive to the retailer.

The two gingerbread kits are from Walmart’s Marketside brand, and come in two varieties- a village kit and a house kit. The village kit allows shoppers to decorate a set of five small gingerbread houses, while the house kit is the more traditional option. Both sets cost $8.98. 

The kits are a part of Walmart’s holiday collection of exclusive and private label products. Walmart announced it was expanding its delivery program for the holidays by increasing the number of items that can be delivered from over 2,800 stores.

It’s a hallmark flavor of the holidays and a Yuletide tradition spent with family and friends,” said Walmart. “No matter how you bake it, gingerbread is the star of the season, and Walmart has delicious kits and whimsical gingerbread houses to spark your imagination this holiday. In fact, Walmart plans to sell more than 5.4 million gingerbread houses and cookie kits this holiday season!”

Walmart’s selection isn’t limited to their own brand. Gingerbread houses available at the retailer that feature characters from popular shows and movies including the Peanuts Gingerbread House Kit ($24.23), the Minions Gingerbread House Kit ($12.98) and the Ninjabread Gingerbread Cookie Kit ($6.98). 

Other gingerbread houses that are a step up from the standard kit include the North Pole Gingerbread Cookie Kit ($19.98), the Gingerbread House Competition Kit ($15.98) and the Gingerbread Dog House ($4.98).
