Trader Joe’s strikes again with new seasoning

At the end of January, Trader Joe’s announced its Customer Choice Awards, and the “Favorite Overall” product served up by the retailer went to its Everything But the Bagel Sesame Seasoning Blend. Well, that blend has a new friend: Everything But the Elote Seasoning Blend.

The new product dropped Feb. 17, and the retailer said it was made with the spirit of its favorite everything bagel seasoning blend.

The elote-inspired seasoning includes everything you might find on an elote, minus the corn, per the company. The seasoning has chile pepper, Parmesan cheese, chipotle powder, cumin, dried cilantro, sea salt and more.

As you might expect, the seasoning is already generating some fan excitement. Food publication Delish published an article with some Trader Joe’s influencers posting their joy on Instagram. Should be interesting to see if these two “Everything” seasonings kick up the private label category as a whole.

Add in a dash of the excitement that was being made over McCormick’s now-sold-out Old Bay Hot Sauce and the flavoring category seems to be a hot commodity. McCormick has assured the new hot sauce will be back on shelves, despite its quick sell-through.
