On its website, Monrovia, Calif.-based Trader Joe’s announced its Strut Your Stuffed contest, in which consumers are invited to submit recipes for “stuffed” dishes — ones where “an edible substance or mixture is used to fill the cavity of another food item” — incorporating store brand products for prizes.
To enter, consumers must e-mail a recipe that uses up to eight Trader Joe’s products (including binders and seasonings, but alcohol is not allowed) and can be prepared in 30 minutes or less (actual cooking may take longer). One entry per person will be accepted, Trader Joe’s stated.
Finalists will be selected by Trader Joe’s Recipe Review Panel, and the finalists will be voted on by Trader Joe’s customers, then re-judged by a new Recipe Review Panel, the retailer explained. Trader Joe’s will announce the finalists in its next e-newsletter, and make voting available on www.traderjoes.com.
The winner will receive a $100 Trader Joe’s gift card, while the first and second runners-up will receive a $50 card and a $25 card, respectively. All finalists and winners will have their names and recipes published on the retailer’s website, and all winners will receive a hip reusable bag and “super special surprise” unique to Trader Joe’s, the retailer said.
