Target teams store brand Pillowfort with Christian Robinson

A limited, exclusive collection between the children’s author and illustrator includes more than 70 pieces in home goods, apparel and toys.

Target’s released a limited-edition, exclusive collection of home goods, apparel and books for children, inspired by and done in collaboration with Christian Robinson, creator of the children’s books, “You Matter” and “Another.”

More than 70 total items are launching across the categories, ranging from $6-$70, on Aug. 15, in most stores and online, and items will be in partnership with Target’s owned brand Pillowfort.

The partnership with Robinson, an author, illustrator and animator, adds to Target’s continuing commitment to source products and designs from Black creators, and is designed to help kids be creative, encourage them to discover and play.

The Christian Robinson for Target collection showcases home items like pillows, bedding, rugs, wall art, baby and toddler clothing that includes adaptive and sensory-friendly apparel, and toys.

“As a child, drawing became a way to make space for myself and to create the kind of world I wanted to see,” said Robinson. “Working with Target to bring this collection to life has been a dream come true and I hope it helps all Target guests, big and small, create a space of their own that is timeless, captures their imaginations and sparks their curiosity.”

Robinson grew up in Los Angeles and the work reflects his love of the natural world, saying his dream bedroom as a kid was inspired by the Natural History Museum with dinosaurs and images of space.

The line complements other recent exclusives from Target such as its first crafts line Mondo Llama and other Black creators such as its first partnership with plant stylist Hilton Carter.
