Target expands Threshold line

Around seven years ago, Target introduced its own brand of home, furniture and housewares products under the Threshold name, and the retailer has been reporting strong annual growth in its home category over those years. However, last year saw low single-digit increases, and Target said during its Q3 earnings report that it will roll out more than 2,000 new items in the category.

Now, coming in April is an extension of the Threshold brand. Called, “Threshold — designed with Studio McGee,” the line boasts a three-year partnership with interior design firm Studio McGee that focuses on products with bright, clean aesthetics.

The more than 120 items launching soon include decorative pieces for the front door, entryway and living room, pillows, lighting products and furniture. Most items are under $50, with some as low as $9.

“We came into this partnership as life-long Target fans, and we love that Target cares about bringing good design to everyone,” says Shea McGee, co-founder and designer, Studio McGee. “At Studio McGee, our goal has always been to help others make their spaces more beautiful and, together with Target, we designed this new home collection to do just that.”
