Staples US Retail added a unique assortment of more than 40 new products for its Staples Connect format store, a co-working, learning and community-oriented store that debuted last year in the Boston area.

Among the new products are exclusive desk chairs from the Union & Scale brand, joining other products aiming to help consumers with remote work and remote learning. Items include kids headphones, gaming and computer desks, and chairs.

“Over the past year, Staples customers experienced a monumental shift in the way they work and learn, so we began our search for products to support and inspire them,” said Mike Motz, CEO, Staples Stores. “We identified entrepreneurs and makers to secure a unique assortment of items that will improve new working and learning experiences for students, entrepreneurs, small business owners and remote workers across the country."

To bring awareness to the products and Staples Connect, the retailer launched a home office makeover sweepstakes called #RemoteOfficeRedo, where 20  entrants will each win $1,000 in Staples gift cards to purchase home office makeover supplies, and one winner will receive the grand prize of a home office makeover valued at up to $10,000 along with a 1:1 consultation with interior design expert and HGTV star Tiffany Brooks.

Staples launched the Staples Connect concept with six stores in the Boston area, not far from its Framingham, Mass. headquarters. The stores carry unique items under its store brands Tru Red, NXT Technologies and Perk, and exclusive services like the Staples Studio, a coworking space that’s ideal for small businesses and freelancers with a kitchen, meeting room, shared offices, an onsite manager and more, and a podcast studio.

The retailer said the plan is to eventually transform all of its Staples stores into a Staples Connect location.
