Lakeland, Fla.-based Publix Super Markets announced it will open its fifth GreenWise Market in Marietta, Ga. Publix describes the concept store as a “specialty, natural and organic store featuring a variety of house-prepared meals, grab-and-go items and a simplified environment,” according to a press release.
The store is said to have a vibe similar to that of Whole Foods Market. Customers can expect to find food products, including store brands, with an accent on healthful to indulgent and treats for the inner foodie, the press release said, adding that an opening date has not been determined.
“We admire the diverse cultural landscape and deep history of the Atlanta area,” said Publix Senior Vice President of Retail Operations Kevin Murphy in a statement. “We look forward to creating a unique experience for our Atlanta-area customers.”
The first GreenWise Market will open next month in Tallahassee, Fla., Publix said in the press release. GreenWise stores in Mount Pleasant and Lakeland, Fla. are expected to open in 2019. The company continues to look for additional GreenWise Market locations throughout its operating area.
Privately owned and operated by its more than 190,000 employees, Publix has 1,171 stores in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia.
