Pet companies partner for private label pet products
Aiming to assist specialty pet retailers looking to differentiate with its own brand of pet products, Clear Conscience Pet has teamed with XTRA Factors to co-develop products that satisfy a growing demand for store brand items.
Between their capabilities, Clear Conscience Pet, Orlando, and XTRA Factors, Ephrata, Pa., will make private label products in the areas of food toppers, functional treats with nutraceutical inclusions, and standalone supplements that help pets increase their mobility, work as an anti-inflammatory, provide healthier skins and coats, and improve digestive health.
The two companies are introducing their partnership and products available for private label at the Global Pet Expo Feb. 26-28 in Orlando.
“We know that we can offer options never before available in private label, whether for one store or hundred,” said Clear Conscience Pet founder and chief nutrition officer Anthony Bennie. “Store brands should never be perceived by consumers as generic; they need to offer special benefits, top quality and be marketed and packaged with the same creativity as national brands.”
The companies said specialty retailers in particular need to leverage store brands to compete in a pet marketplace that has aggressive competition from mass marketers, supermarkets and online retailers like Amazon and Chewy.com.
“We look forward to doing exactly that for progressive specialty retailers who have decided to take their future into their own hands and change their direction for a more secure future while helping more animals and their human guardians," Bennie said.
