Ocean Bio-Chem ups disinfectant production due to increased demand

Ocean Bio-Chem, a producer of branded and private brand formulations of disinfectant, deodorizing and sanitation products, has purchased additional equipment to increase production of its disinfectant products, namely the Performacide brand.

The Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based company’s sanitizer and disinfectant meets Environmental Protection Agency requirements and is a registered disinfectant with the EPA, so it is a product approved to be used against COVID-19.

In addition to purchasing more equipment, Ocean Bio-Chem, a subsidiary of Montgomery, Ala.-based Kinpak, is increasing its number of shifts at the plant and hiring more personnel to meet the demand for its disinfectant product.

The company said that it believes that using Performacide will decrease the amount of time spent disinfecting, and help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Ocean Bio-Chem's Performacide products, including raw materials, are made in the United States. Kinpak produces its own spray bottles in-house.
