Mold-Rite Plastics is expanding its facility in Twinsburg, Ohio, a move that will enable the producer of closures for vitamins, OTC pharmaceuticals, soaps, sanitizers and more to increase business by more than 30%.

The Chicago-based company with manufacturing locations in Pittsburgh, Twinsburg and Somerset, N.J., said the Ohio expansion will allow the facility to further advance the use of post-consumer recycled (PCR) resin in its products. All of the Twinsburg facility’s current product offerings are manufactured with recyclable polypropylene, but the company has been working closely with brand owners to incorporate more recycled content into their packaging.

Mold-Rite Plastics prides itself as an environmentally responsible manufacturer, furthering initiatives to offer more sustainable products to reduce the amount of plastics used, provide recyclable options and promote re-use wherever possible.

“We are manufacturing important products, adding employment opportunities, and working to improve the environment,” adds Rinder. “We are excited to make this investment in our community,” said Carol Rinder, vice president of operations, Twinsburg facility. “The new addition will allow us to increase our business over 30%.”

A ceremony was held at the facility on July 8 with the mayor of Twinsburg and Mold-Rite employees, where construction officially broke ground.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Mold-Rite has remained operational as an essential supplier to the pharmaceutical, nutrition and food segments. “Our mission remains to be the most responsive and flexible supplier in the packaging industry,” said Brian Bauerbach, President and CEO of Mold-Rite Plastics. “Our factories have responded incredibly well to increased levels of demand, resulting in production being up by 32%.”
