Instacart amps up deliverers
Instacart has been on a roll adding new features to its service and how it assists its army of shoppers that have been handling delivery orders that are up by 500%, year over year, due to the unique shopping landscape underway from the coronavirus pandemic.
The latest announcement included a goal to hire 250,000 more full-service shoppers over the next two months, aiming to get back to giving consumers one-hour or same-day delivery, as opposed to the scheduled windows.
Instacart also added a new “wellness check” within its mobile app that asks the Instacart shopper to fill out a survey of symptoms that will be logged in and cleared to continue to work. Additional pay and bonuses are being set up for the Instacart shoppers.

Recently, Instacart also enhanced its ordering features recently and teamed up with Costco on prescription delivery and providing health kits to its shoppers.
