Hy-Vee is offering shoppers a variety of Thanksgiving meal specials.

Hy-Vee is offering special Thanksgiving meal deals as well as prepared meals that are budget-friendly and help make holiday cooking as easy as possible. The grocer said these affordable options will meet the needs of any family gathering, whether it is a dinner for two or a family buffet for 20. New this year, Hy-Vee is also offering a gluten-free meal deal with ingredients for just $50.

This year, Thanksgiving meal options at Hy-Vee include:

  • Meal Deals: Hy-Vee’s meal deals include all the traditional ingredients needed to prepare a Thanksgiving meal for the best value. Meal packages start at $30, feed up to six people, and include a whole turkey or turkey breast. All meal packages also include a dessert.
  • Gluten-Free: A new option this year, this meal deal offers the same traditional ingredients but with gluten-free options and is available for just $50.
  • Prepared Holiday Meal Kits: Hy-Vee will again offer its popular holiday meal kits. These popular options are available for a party of two to 20 and include a choice of protein with sides that come prepared and only require reheating. Customers can place orders by calling their local Hy-Vee store or ordering online at Hy-Vee.com. Customers who purchase the prepared holiday meals will be able to schedule a time to pick up their order in-store before Thanksgiving or via curbside pickup at Hy-Vee grocery stores the morning of Thanksgiving Day.

“Thanksgiving is another opportunity for Hy-Vee to help customers save time and money, and these meal options will do just that while allowing customers to spend more time with friends and family,” said Anna Stoermer, executive vice president and chief retail officer at Hy-Vee. “We know the holidays can be a busy time and that no two celebrations look the same, so whatever Thanksgiving looks like for you, Hy-Vee has you covered.”

In addition to the Thanksgiving meal options, Hy-Vee is running its popular “Buy a ham, get a turkey free” promotion throughout November at all Hy-Vee locations.

The battle for consumer’s holiday meal dollars has ratcheted up in late October and early November. Aldi is offering a meal for 10 people for $47, Walmart’s holiday meal grocery list includes 29 items for eight people at a cost of less than $7 per person, and Sam’s Club has a Thanksgiving meal featuring all Member’s Mark products it says will feed a family of 10 for less than $100.

Other retailers including TargetLidl, and The Giant Company are among others also offering money-saving specials for the traditional November holiday.
