Lidl is offering a Thanksgiving meal deal for a family of 10 for less than $4.50 per person.
With Thanksgiving approaching and several other retailers and grocers highlighting holiday meal specials, Lidl is throwing its hat into the ring with a grocery list of 20 items for a family of 10 costing less than $4.50 per person.
With a Shady Brook Farms frozen turkey ($0.39 per pound) at the center of the meal, the grocer’s list also includes chicken broth, cut green beans, stuffing, brown gravy, macaroni and cheese, carrots, jumbo russet potatoes, and Hawaiian sweet rolls. (Check out the complete list of ingredients.)
In a statement to USA Today, Lido said this is the lowest the grocer has ever sold this number of items for a Thanksgiving dinner. “It’s priced less than national competitors and features nearly double the number of items,” the statement said.
The battle for consumer’s holiday meal dollars has ratcheted up in late October and early November. Aldi is offering a meal for 10 people for $47, Walmart’s holiday meal grocery list includes 29 items for eight people at a cost of less than $7 per person, and Sam’s Club has a Thanksgiving meal featuring all Member’s Mark products it says will feed a family of 10 for less than $100.
Other retailers including Target and The Giant Company are among others also offering money-saving specials for the traditional November holiday.
