Fuchs North America, a seasonings and spices supplier for private label, foodservice, retail and food manufacturers, has launched a limited-time offering of four seasonings derived from the earthy flavors of hemp.

The company has called the collection Earthy Eats Collection and the seasonings are available to be developed and custom formulated to meet retailer-owned private brands, the company told Store Brands

“Industry predictors have placed cannabis on the watch list for 2021,” said Shannon Cushen, director of marketing, Baltimore-based Fuchs. “We have innovated to allow consumers to explore the earthy flavors of hemp in food without the mind-altering effects. Earthy Eats is an introduction to these flavors, showcasing their versatility and craveability.”

The four blends include Garlicky Rose-Mary Jane Popcorn Seasoning, a seasoning that aims to bring out distinctive woody and herbal notes, leveraging the popularity of rosemary; Mellow Mug Brownie Seasoning, a dessert topper that melts in the microwave for a chocolatey Cocoa Kush cannabis flavor; Extra Chill Ice Cream Seasoning, a seasoning with a vanilla base featuring caramel and brown sugar; and Happy High Tea Seasoning, leveraging the comforting flavors of cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and star anise to bring a strong spice to tea drinks and uses the Tahoe OG strain.

“Our newest collection delights the taste buds with up-front and back-end notes from various cannabis strain flavors. Not only do these seasonings step outside the box, but they also unearth tasty flavors, thanks to our cannabis-driven ingredients” Cushen said.

The collection of seasoning blends are ideal for beverages, baked goods, snacks and ice cream, and can be a starting point for food manufacturers, private brand producers, and foodservice establishments to partner on and develop a signature product offering, according to the company. Ken Wuestenfeld, VP, sales and technical services, said Fuchs uses in-depth trend analysis and listens to consumer desires to elevate food.

“With Fuchs, you can expect results-oriented support that’s focused, flexible and responsive. We innovate for you — from our marketing insights to R&D expertise, we support you through all stages of the product development cycle. Our regulatory and quality experts are on-hand to ensure that the end result meets your desired specifications,” he added.
