Members of the Private Label Manufacturers Association can now get industry numbers from IRI in near real time.

The association announced it has partnered with IRI to bring its Unify platform to its members and retailers, enabling them to search up-to-date sales numbers across the industry. PLMA first hinted at the partnership during its Washington Conference and has given Store Brands an advanced look of its official announcement coming today.

Previously, PLMA would offer members access to directories for trade shows, brokers, suppliers, archives of research studies, and the annual yearbook with key Nielsen data. It also provided quarterly updates in U.S. dollar and unit share to members.

The partnership with IRI expands on the numbers, now enabling members to access near real-time numbers, monthly updates and quarterly updates. Refreshed monthly, the sales data covers numerous channels, such as food, drug, mass merchants, military, dollar, club and convenience stores across 317 categories and more than 950 sub-categories. Members can update the information and look at it compared to a 5-year history, too.

“Our partnership with IRI enables PLMA members and retailers to get customized sales data quickly and securely,” said Peggy Davies, PLMA president. “We’re excited to offer this as another value-added benefit to help PLMA members drive sustainable profitable growth.”

The complimentary service will be available to members and retailers on plma.com. It provides access to market data and analysis tools that are typically accessible only to organizations with large research budgets, the association said.

IRI’s Unify platform is a visualization platform that aims to provide easier access into insights and the integration of multiple, disparate data sources. It provides a single access point to all IRI Liquid Data solutions from different devices, customized to a user’s role at the company and delivered in an easy-to-use format, according to IRI.

The Unify tool aims to reduce a user’s time to insights using the platform’s interactive dashboards and data visualization tools, giving partner companies more time to analyze and identify business opportunities and issues. It also includes a bookmarking feature, help desk and other user-friendly tools.

At the Washington Conference, PLMA said it would be hosting a virtual meeting with members to introduce them to the tool and see the platform firsthand.
