Amid the coronavirus pandemic, disinfectant and cleaning products have certainly been in high demand and tough to keep stocked. Granite Gold Inc., Poway, Calif., largely a producer of branded cleaners for natural stone and quartz surfaces has introduced a new disinfectant and antimicrobial spray that is available to retailers for private brand production.

The product is MicroGold Multi-Action Disinfectant & Antimicrobial spray that recently passed criteria set by the Environmental Protection Agency during a mid-June independent analysis done by Microbac Laboratories. The test showed the product kills a live strain of SARS-CoV-2 in minutes.

The spray is a hospital-grade cleaner but available for homes, and the branded version is sold in select True Value, Lowe's, Ace Hardware, CVS, Do It Best Hardware, Menards and Hannaford stores.

The MicroGold spray kills 99.9% of viruses and bacteria on hard, non-porous surfaces. While common disinfectants last a few short minutes, the additional benefit of an antimicrobial is suppressing the growth of infectious microorganisms, according to the company. The solution is non-abrasive, and is alcohol and bleach free. The suggested retail prices are  $9.99 (16oz.), $14.99 (24oz.), and $59.99 (128oz.).

The company said the MicroGold spray is the only dual-action spray — disinfectant and antimicrobial — to be on the EPA’s list of COVID-19 effective products.
