CBD-infused, immune-boosting bev in test

Canadian company BevCanna Enterprises introduced a new CBD-infused beverage with functional elements to boost the immune system. The formulation with immune-boosting ingredients is available to retailers for private brand release.

The drink is under its health and wellness brand Lev and uses a formulation that is based on the popular mineral-infused Trace beverage, a non-CBD beverage that’s already been approved by Health Canada. BevCanna acquired the rights to develop the formulation through an exclusive license agreement with Naturo Group and the cans for the drink say “powered by Trace.”

The Lev bev is plant-based, with fulvic and humic minerals that are considered key benefits for cognitive performance, gut health, immune function and helps the body metabolize carbs, fats and proteins.

The hemp-derived CBD beverage is testing now and expected to launch in the U.S. this year and in Canada, upon regulatory approval of mineral fortification of cannabis beverages. It will be served in 60ml and 250ml sizes and originally sold as a direct-to-consumer product, but is available for production as a retailer’s private label product. The non-CBD Trace beverage is in more than 3,000 stores throughout Canada and is expanding to the U.S.

"We're excited to bring this innovative new beverage to the US and Canadian markets," commented John Campbell, chief strategy officer at BevCanna. "Health and wellness are very much top of mind for consumers today and developing a beverage that is not only appealing to drink, but that also boosts immunity and wellness is a natural fit for BevCanna."
