C-P Flexible Packaging enables virtual press checks
As the coronavirus pandemic has caused some companies to prohibit travel and in-person facility visits, C-P Flexible Packaging introduced virtual press check capabilities, enabling its customers to remotely conduct a press check and approve packaging graphics, for example.
Most of C-P Flexible Packaging’s customers produce shelf-stable foods and cleaning products, and many of them produce store brand products. Because of COVID-19 and guidelines set forth by the Center for Disease Control to slow the spread of the virus, companies aren’t able to make in-person visits to C-P’s facility. The company has put in place sophisticated light booths, 4K webcam equipment and secure videoconferencing software in the facility to enable a virtual press check system to help fill the void of any prohibited on-site press checks.
“In these unprecedented and challenging times, we are committed to doing our part to keep our nation’s supply of shelf-stable foods and cleaning products intact,” said Mike Hoffman, chief executive officer, C-P Flexible Packaging. “We all know that avoiding air travel and practicing social distancing is extremely critical right now. Since these important measures prevent our customers from conducting their usual on-site press checks, we immediately developed a solution allowing them to run remote press checks. As the COVID-19 pandemic unfolds, we’ll continue making investments to support these suppliers of essential products.”
Headquartered in York, Pa., C-P Flexible Packaging has more than 500,000 square feet of manufacturing space across four locations, handling flexible packaging that includes HD printed rollstock, premade pouches, shrink sleeves, stretch sleeves, poly bags, roll-fed labels, reclose, cold-seal and recyclable flexible packaging.
