Pet industry veteran Heather Govea takes the top spot at the company that provides a host of private label products to retailers.

The announcements were made throughout the first half of March with grand opening details still to come.

Private label products now account for more than 25% of the retailer's total sales with additional growth expected.

A new report from the National Retail Federation shows consumer spending remained strong in the year's second month.

The discounter reported fourth quarter growth in the consumables category, while sales in its home products, seasonal, and apparel categories were sluggish.

The discount retailer's parent company, Dollar Tree, said additional store closures are planned in the coming years.

Despite the drop in sales, officials with the retailer were please to come in above the forecasted decline in comparable store revenue.
