Big Lots adds functional fashion own brand
As part of what the retailer is calling its biggest assortment of apparel to date, Big Lots has debuted a new private brand called Weekend Soul, a line of tops and dresses for the summer that start at prices as low as $10.
The idea behind the line of apparel is to offer consumers items that can be dressed down during the day or used to dress up for a night out with friends, bringing a more versatile range of exclusive clothing than previously, according to the retailer. Items available now online range from leggings to tanks that fit also fit the growing athleisure trend, which Big Lots president and CEO Bruch Thorn alluded to.
"There can be no denying that the past 18 months have changed the way we all approach getting dressed in the morning, choosing functional everyday wear that's comfortable, yet fashionable. We kept this top of mind when deciding to greatly expand our apparel assortment with new brands, styles and options for every customer," said Bruce Thorn, president and CEO at Big Lots. "We know our savvy BIGioniare shoppers feel like a million bucks when they get to hunt in our stores for the best deals in town, and we want them to feel the same way when they put on our high quality and affordable new apparel collections — perfect for everybody, every day."
Helping shoppers gear up for summer, the new store brand will be joined by an expanded line of apparel from national partners such as Reebok, Como Vintage and Zac & Rachel, as well as licensed apparel for kids featuring Disney and Marvel characters.
