Beneo unveils first-of-its kind rice starch
Beneo, a functional ingredient manufacturer, is introducing an innovative precooked functional native rice starch that will enable food manufacturers such as private brand suppliers to produce clean label food preparations like cold processed sauces, dressings, dairy desserts and bakery fillings with an instant functional native rice starch.
The ingredient brings foods a soft and creamy texture, product stability and holds up against tough processing conditions such as shear and acid. The company said it's the first rice starch of its kind.
The ingredient goes by Remypure S52 P and is now available globally by Parsippany, N.J.,-based Beneo. Earlier this year the producer upped production overseas to meet rice starch demands.
Beneo said applications such as food dressings, sauces and dips, bakery fillings, or dairy desserts, traditionally have to withstand acidity or high shear during preparation, and it can be challenging to maintain optimal functionality under those conditions. The functional native texturizer Remypure S52 P offers a clean label alternative.
