Amazon Fresh Expands In New York

Amazon Fresh has opened two new locations on New York’s Long Island as the company expands into a crowded grocery marketplace.

The stores opened on October 24 and are located in Plainview at 50 Manetto Hill Road (33,340 square feet) and in East Setauket at 4054 Nesconset Highway (42,900 square feet). The stores will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.

According to Long Island Business News, both spaces were leased some two years ago but remained vacant while Amazon put a hold on expansion plans. The Plainview store was formerly home to Fairway Market, and the East Setauket store was formerly a Waldbaum’s.

The two new Long Island Amazon Fresh stores join the company’s other location in Oceanside at 3620 Long Beach Road, which opened in 2022. Another planned location in Farmingville at 3017 North Ocean Ave. was newly constructed in 2023 but remains vacant. These three locations are the only Amazon Fresh stores in New York State.

Amazon Fresh currently operates 55 stores across eight states.
