Aldi's Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation products include a variety of items that allow shoppers to support the organization.

In 2022, Aldi committed to raising $10 million to support Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF), which helps fund the fight against childhood cancer while also investing in causes that support children’s health and wellness.

The Batavia, Ill.-based grocer is a year ahead of that goal, with the company donating a minimum of $1 million to ALSF for the seventh consecutive year. Now, Aldi is on track to hit its $10 million goal by 2026.

“At Aldi, we’re focused on making a lasting impact on the issues that matter most to our communities,” said Dave Rinaldo, chief operating officer with Aldi U.S. “The heartfelt engagement from our Aldi teams and supplier partners across the country has been invaluable, and it’s because of their efforts that we’re expected to reach our fundraising goal one year early. Together, we're fueling life-changing research and helping families navigate the challenges of childhood cancer, one cup of lemonade at a time.”

ALSF is an organization named for Alexandra “Alex” Scott. At age four, she began selling lemonade to raise money for kids, who like her, were battling cancer. What started as one small stand sparked a national movement. Today, ALSF is one of the leading funders of pediatric cancer research in the U.S. and Canada.

ALSF has raised more than $300 million since 2005 and funded more than 1,500 medical research grants. With the support of partners such as Aldi, ALSF helped push the number of childhood cancer survivors in the U.S. to more than 500,000 and contributed to today’s 85% survival rate.

The grocer is encouraging its shoppers to continue supporting ALSF during it Lemonade Days by participating in several ways:

  • Hosting a Lemonade Stand to Donate Proceeds to ALSF. Products available for purchase at Aldi including a juice press, beverage dispenser, sugar-free lemonade, and more can be used as in the effort to raise funds via an individual’s lemonade stand.
  • Purchase a Limited-Time Reusable Aldi x ALSF Bag. Spread awareness for ALSF with a reusable bag featuring artwork from an Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation Hero, part of a special program designed to support siblings of children with cancer and those who are cancer survivors.
  • Donating Directly to the cause online. Contribute directly to ALSF, supporting its impactful research in more than 240 clinical trials each year, which help families across the country who are affected by childhood cancer.

“ALDI has been a valuable partner since 2019, and their support has helped us take steps toward achieving Alex’s dream to cure childhood cancer,” said Liz Scott, co-executive director of ALSF and Alex’s mother. “Partners like Aldi play an important role in the progress we’ve made toward our goal to raise $500 million to fund pediatric cancer research and make impacted families’ lives easier in the process.”
