Aldi joins ranks of retailers with mask mandates
Aldi U.S. has announced that they too will be requiring shoppers to wear a mask in-store.
The discount leader joins several retailers who have issued a mask mandate such as Walgreens, CVS Pharmacy, Walmart, Kroger and more.
Aldi said the policy will go into effect on July 27, requiring a face covering to be worn inside all of its 2,000 stores.
The retailer said it is following safety protocols from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention as well as state and local health officials, which say that cloth face coverings are a critical tool in the fight against COVID-19 and can help reduce the spread of the virus.
“Our new face covering policy is an enhanced safety measure intended to help limit the spread of COVID-19,” the retailer said in its announcement. “All Aldi employees will continue to wear face coverings, as they have for months.”
