Ace Hardware's ELEVATE³ Format Drives Sales Growth
Ace Hardware continues to roll out its ELEVATE³ new store format, with more than 130 locations across the hardware retailer now showcasing the new look.
The new format, which was unveiled a year ago, is designed to create immersive experiences in paint, power, backyards and barbecue, and home preservation. The ELEVATE³ Ace stores have seen sales grow 12% and gross profit up 10% compared to other Ace locations not using the new format.
“ELEVATE³ Ace is experiential retail wrapped in the servant-hearted humanity that’s made Ace famous,” said John Venhuizen, president and CEO of Ace Hardware. “These stores let customers see, touch, and try the best of Ace, while staying true to our mission of serving neighbors. A year in, they’re driving strong growth for our retailers and making Ace an even more valuable part of the communities we serve.”
Category Highlights vs. Non-implementing Stores Include:
- Power: +25% sales
- BBQ: +22% sales
- Backyard: +6% sales
- Paint: +6% sales
- Home Preservation: +8% sales
During Ace’s recent Hardware Fall Convention in Chicago, the retailer featured a full-scale, 10,000-square-foot ELEVATE³ Ace “Store-on-the-Floor” that showcased expanded power and barbecue destinations.
New ELEVATE³ Ace enhancements include a pilot “Sun & Shade” department offering premium sunglasses along with lifestyle apparel, hydration products, and outdoor audio equipment. Also new is a refreshed lighting aisle with adjustable white lighting in bulbs and fixtures.
ELEVATE³ Ace will continue to transform new and existing Ace Hardware stores over the next several years, supported with a $1 billion investment.
