Company officials said joining the stock index is a significant milestone for the retailer

Williams-Sonoma has joined the S&P 500

Williams-Sonoma, Inc. is now a member of the S&P 500, joining several leading retailers including Amazon, Walmart, Home Depot, Costco, and Best Buy.

Williams-Sonoma, Inc.’s portfolio of brands includes Williams Sonoma, Williams Sonoma Home, Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids, Pottery Barn Teen, West Elm, Rejuvenation, Mark & Graham, and GreenRow.

The home specialty retailer recently reported a solid finish to its fiscal year 2024. Net revenue for the quarter ended February 2 was $2.5 billion, up from net revenue of $2.3 billion in the comparable quarter the previous year. Quarterly net earnings were $410.7 million, or $3.23 per diluted share, up from net earnings of $354.4 million, or $2.72 per diluted share in the prior year’s fourth quarter. Comparable store sales were up 3.1%.

Alber said the company’s success in the fourth quarter was fueled by the strength of its operating model, its seasonal offerings, impactful collaborations, and a strong improvement in both retail and online furniture sales.
