Whole Foods Pollock Fillets are included in a recall issued December 23.

Whole Foods Market’s Beer Battered Pollock and Cod Fillets have been recalled by Tampa Bay Fisheries as the product contains soy that is not declared on the product label.

The impacted products sold under the grocer’s 365 private label are sold in 32-ounce bags (Lot #32508201 - pollock) and 12-ounce cartons (Lot #32348201 and Lot #32628201 - cod).

According to a recall notice from the United States Food & Drug Administration, individuals who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to soy run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the product. The affected product was sold at Whole Foods stores between September 8, 2023, and December 22, 2023.

No illnesses have been reported to date. The FDA said the recall was initiated after it was discovered the product containing soy was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of soy.

No other lots were found to be affected, and the products have been removed from store shelves. Consumers who purchased the affected products should dispose of the items. They can bring a valid receipt to their local Whole Foods store for a full refund.

Consumers with questions should contact Tampa Bay Fisheries at (800) SEAFOOD.
