Little Rock, Ark.-based Westrock Coffee Company has announced the acquisition of Los Angeles-based Bixby’s Roasting Co.

Westrock will acquire the company, along with its roasting facility in Los Angeles. Miles Fisher and Remington Hotchkis launched Bixby’s in 2017, and they will both be joining Westrock’s senior management team as part of the deal. Fisher will serve as SVP of Sales, and Hotchkis will be named VP of Sales.

Bixby has been a private label supplier of its own, providing coffee to the venture-capital-backed Chamberlain Coffee brand, led by celebrity influencer Emma Chamberlain, according to Daily Coffee News

“We are delighted to welcome Miles and Remington to the Westrock Coffee team, their collective insight in sales, product development, and operational execution will be invaluable to our expanding list of premium customers.” said Scott Ford, CEO and Co-Founder of Westrock Coffee.

The acquisition marks continued growth for the copmany, which produces coffee products for private brands. In late January, Westrock reached an agreement to develop a 530,000-square foot distribution center in Conway, Ark., around 30 miles north of Little Rock.

“The emergence of influencer-led brands has created a new sales channel in the beverage business, and Bixby is at the forefront of its development,” said Elizabeth McLaughlin, EVP of Sales of Westrock Coffee. “Miles and Remington bring a depth of knowledge on these emerging channels that we are adding to the Westrock Coffee portfolio, including the co-creation of new influencer brands that are particularly appealing to young consumers. We are excited to welcome them to the Westrock Coffee team and look forward to integrating their talents and ideas into our portfolio."
