Walmart Rolls Out Back-to-School Savings, New Own Brand Tween Apparel Line

With the back-to-school shopping season underway, Walmart has launched Weekend Academy, a new private-label apparel assortment designed for tweens.

The new line offers a variety of products, with most items priced at less than $15 and many under $10. Featured items include a girls' boxy graphic tee with short sleeves for $6.48, a girls' tiered ruffle skirt for $11.98, and girls' zip-front boots for $22.98.

This new private brand is part of a broader effort by Walmart to offer shoppers a wide range of back-to-school items across the store, including providing products from the 14 most popular suppliers at prices lower than in 2024. Its Every Day Low Prices include:

• More than 200 back-to-school rollbacks
• 100+ supplies priced under $1
• 1,000+ supplies under $5
• 2,000+ supplies under $10

Streamlined Shopping and Meal Solutions

According to the retailer, more than 50% of its customers said a one-click school supply basket could help make back-to-school shopping easier and more convenient. The retailer’s "one simple click" option for pickup or delivery was designed with this need in mind and will deliver products in as fast as an hour.

Back-to-school mealtime and snacks are also an important part of the return to the classroom. Walmart’s specials for lunch and snacks include:

• Exclusive bettergoods bites: Prep for the new school year with Walmart’s exclusive private food brand, bettergoods, featuring an easy, one-click basket stocked with kid favorites like fruit snacks, macaroni and cheese, pizza, fruit pouches, and more.
• Dorm food stock-up: Make back-to-college shopping easier than ever with Walmart’s one-click dorm food basket, featuring essentials like yogurt, granola bars, ramen, and more, available in as fast as one hour.
