Walmart Launches Private Label Hydration Line
Walmart has expanded its hydration beverage assortment with the launch of Great Value Sport, which the retailer is offering in various configurations.
According to information on its website, Walmart is offering the Sport line an 18 pack of 12 ounces bottles that includes six bottles each of fruit punch, mixed berry, and lemon lime. The same configuration and flavors are also offered under Sport Zero, which includes no sugar. Retail price for a 12 pack in both configurations is $7.46.
Additional, consumers can choose from an 8 pack of 20 ounce bottles in single flavors — fruit punch, lemon lime, and mixed berry. The 8-packs are priced at $5.42.
According to product information on Walmart.com, the Great Value sports drinks include essential electrolytes to help fuel high-intensity workouts and sports activities.
By means of comparison, an 18 pack of 12 ounces bottles from Gatorade on Walmart.com offered in lemon lime, fruit punch, and orange is priced at $10.98. Also, 8-packs of 20 ounces bottles from Gatorade offered in a host of flavors including lemon lime, orange, fruit punch, glacier freeze, and grape are priced at $7.88.
