Walmart gets shoppers dressed for 'Squid Game'
Since its release on Netflix, "Squid Game" has become one of the most watched television shows around the world and is already becoming a popular costume idea. This year, costumes from the show make up nearly one-third of the 11 most popular Halloween costume searches.
In response, Walmart is leveraging its own brands to help fans dress up as their favorite characters from the South Korean drama series. Clothing and accessories from own brands such as Time and Tru and George are available in-store and online for Halloween customers to become characters from "Squid Game" such as players, pink guards, elite, front man and robot doll.
Walmart pulled together a menu of items to choose from to build out those character looks, joining the exclusive Netflix merchandising hub it inked recently with the streamer. That hub includes a range of graphic T-shirts, hoodies, mugs and more that showcase the television show.
