U.S. probiotic producer expands with acquisition

Following a recent acquisition of Denmark-based Bifodan A/S, Deerland Probiotics & Enzymes, Kennesaw, Ga., has completed the integration of the company. Now, the companies will operate as one global entity under the Deerland brand.

Customers of Deerland and the former Bifodan now have access to an expanded portfolio of science-backed probiotic, prebiotic and enzyme technologies through branded ingredients, customized formulations, and ready-to-market turnkey solutions in more than 40 countries around the world. 

Deerland is a producer of formulations and products for the dietary supplement, food and beverage, sports nutrition, and pet markets, including a full turnkey division for private label through its “YourBrand” portfolio. The company produces bulk blends, capsules, stick packs, tablets, bottling and labeling, and more.

Following the acquisition, the two companies worked together to integrate operations, such as sales and marketing teams addressed how the combined company would collaborate with customers to develop innovative and proprietary solutions, and the global research and development teams ensured each product offering would be supported with sound clinical science. Manufacturing teams worked on ways to optimize production.
