Trader Joe’s has built a loyal customer base over the years by curating a product assortment of private brands that shoppers view as meshing quality with value.

With Millennials seen as the grocer’s key demographic, it should come as little surprise that Trade Joe’s was ranked first in Yelp’s list of the 50 most loved brands in the United States.

The ranking was determined by Yelp looking at restaurant, food and retail brands with more than 200 locations across 25-plus states that have more than 500 reviews and at least one review for every two locations in 2022. To rank the most loved brands, Yelp assigned each brand a loyalty score, which consists of the brands’ 2022 review rating along with the percentage of business page views by returning visitors.

With more than 500 locations in 42 states and Washington, D.C., Trader Joe’s topped the list. According to Yelp, its highest rated store located in Orem, Utah, has a perfect 5 stars. Yelp users praised employees at the store for their cheerful and quick service, with shoppers noting they go out of their way to shop at the location.

Other retailers on the list include Floor & Decor (No. 5), Costco (No. 9), World Market (No. 10), HomeGoods (No. 22), Target (No. 33), At Home (No. 35), Marshalls (No. 38), Nordstrom Rack (No. 45), and Michaels (No. 50).
