Trader Joe's gears up for Valentine's Day

The retailer's latest newsletter promotes own brand items ahead of Valentine's Day, including deals on flower bouquets and sweets.

Trader Joe’s is highlighting sweets and flowers in its latest Fearless Flyer as Valentine’s Day approaches. The retailer’s Feb. 7 newsletter features 67 products including items perfect for Valentine’s Day, as well as teas, pastas, dairy products, meatless options and more.

The February promotions follow Trader Joe’s 13th annual Customer Choice Awards, which allowed shoppers to name their favorite Trader Joe’s own brand products with Mandarin Orange Chicken, Soy Chorizo, Teeny Tiny Avocados and more earning praise.

Trader Joe’s is offering bouquets of a dozen roses for $14.99, coming in shades of pink, red and orange, a perfect gift for Valentine’s Day. For those looking for an assortment of flowers for their loved one, mixed bouquets are just $19.99.

“Now, that’s a serious value—a fraction of the price you’d pay for similar bouquets, elsewhere,” said the grocer in the February newsletter. “Because of the nature of flowers (you know, being from nature and all), and the nature of this amorous holiday, this particular value will only be around between February 10th and February 14th, while the roses last, so don’t delay!

To pair with the floral offerings, Trader Joe’s is offering its Raspberry Hearts cookies for $4.99, made of shortbread and filled with raspberry jelly, along with Raspberry Mousse Cake, a six pack of individual cakes for just $3.49.

“While our Raspberry Mousse Cakes make especially delicious after-dinner treats, adorned with fresh raspberries or topped with a bit of whipped cream, the truth is, they’re just as excellent when enjoyed as an anytime indulgence,” said the company.

Other indulgent items from the private label grocer include wines such as Trader Joe’s Reserve Cabernet from Alexander Valley ($9.99) and Trader Joe’s Reserve Merlot from the Sonoma Valley ($9.99), along with sweets like the Dark Chocolate Strawberry Bars ($2.99).
