Trader Joe’s reviewed and tasted the milkshake entries in its milkshake contest that launched a few weeks ago and it has chosen its winners.

The three winners are posted online with the full recipes on how to make the frozen dessert at home. Trader Joe’s asked its loyal fanbase to create a milkshake using only ingredients at Trader Joe’s, post the recipes on its Instagram with #TJsMilkshakeContest, and the retailer recreated the entries in a test kitchen to judge the best. All of the entries can still be viewed on the retailer’s Instagram account, including recipes that are dairy and non-dairy, with out-of-the-box ingredients like goat cheese, seaweed, jalapenos and Alfredo sauce, according to the Monrovia, Calif.-based retailer.

The top three winners were:

  • Van Fulton won the grand prize for a Mocha Crunch Cake Milkshake. The milkshake leveraged Trader Joe’s Lacey Cookies and Trader Joe’s Mini Chocolate Cupcakes, along with Trader Joe’s Coffee Bean Blast Ice Cream and more to create a rich milkshake with cupcakes on skewers.
  • Christina Chapdelaine won first runner up for a Banana Caramel Wafer Milkshake that leanded on TJ’s Organic Vanilla Fudge Chip Ice Creak, Trader Joe’s Mini Caramel Stroopwafels, Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Cookie Sticks, and more ingredients.
  • Lyndsey Clerico earned the second runner up prize with a Hawaiian Whipped Pineapple milkshake that used frozen pineapple, vanilla non-dairy frozen dessert, Trader Joe’s Turmeric Ginger Coconut Beverage and more exclusives from the retailer.

The grand prize winner earned a $200 gift card to Trader Joe’s and the runner ups won a $100 card. All winners received special mentions online and over the Instagram account.
