Trader Joe’s adds 2 influencers to its roster

Trader Joe’s is no stranger to influencers and fans of the retailer gushing over its exclusive, private brand offerings on Instagram and in online blogs, yet a recent profile of two TJ influencers highlights an underrepresented voice among the throng of fans.

Essence published a piece on the women behind “Black Girls in Trader Joe’s,” or #BGITJ. Here’s the Instagram handle, and they can be found on Facebook and Twitter.

The duo have more than 60,000 followers and share fun recipes, highlighting finds in Trader Joe’s, share videos and offer gift card giveaways at the store.

The article speaks with the two women from Cleveland, Lo and Dee, who met on social media and bonded over the grocery store (just as many other TJ lovers out there). They said when going to social media pages about Trader Joe’s or other fan blogs, they didn’t see a lot of people who looked like them so looked to be that voice and bring others together. Since then the channel has grown.

Outside of the blog, Lo is a human resources professional and Dee is a aesthetician and mother, per the article. Read more about this fun partnership in the magazine article here
