Target Recalls Cookies Sold Under Its Favorite Day Brand

The frosted sugar cookies were sold in 20 states and Washington, D.C., and were said by the FDA to possibly contain wood.

Target has recalled cookies sold at stores in 20 states and the nation's capital.

Target has voluntarily recalled a selection of cookies sold under its Favorite Day own brand over possible contamination with wood.

According to information from the Food & Drug Administration, more than 800 cases of Favorite Day Bakery Frosted Sugar Cookies (10 count) were impacted by the recall. 

Manufactured by Give and Go Prepared Foods Corp. of Etobicoke, Canada, the items have UPC code 85239-41250 3 and lot number 25195. 

The cookies were distributed by Target in distribution centers in Ohio, Connecticut, and Maryland, and sold in stores in 20 states including Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Virginia, and Vermont, along with Washington, D.C.

The initial recall report from the FDA did not indicate if any shoppers suffered health issues as a result of the contamination. Consumers who purchased the products included in the recall should call Target Guest Relations at 1-800-440-0680 for a full refund.
