Staples Canada Acquires Two Office Retailers

Staples Canada has announced the acquisition of two competitors, allowing for an enhanced inventory of products.

Staples Canada is expanding its reach having acquired two Canadian office supplies retailers, giving the company an opportunity to expand its own brand product offerings as well as services.

Through its business-to-business division Staples Professional Inc, the company announced the acquisition of Denis Office Supplies and Furniture and Supreme Basics.

"In working together, we will strengthen and grow our product and services offering, while continuing to provide the exceptional customer service that our brands are known for."

Founded in 1972, Denis Office Supplies and Furniture services business customers throughout Quebec and Atlantic Canada through its network of stores/showrooms and fulfillment centers. Supreme Basics services business customers in the Prairies and Ontario with specialty office supplies and educational products. 

Staples Canada said the acquisition of the two companies will allow them to “expand its product and service offering in print and marketing, technology, facilities and commercial furniture to Denis Office Supplies and Furniture and Supreme Basics customers.”
