Southeastern Grocers earns 2 awards for own brand foods

SE Grocers continues to see its own brand products win acclaim as PLMA honored two products with Salute to Excellence Awards.

Southeastern Grocers is celebrating more praise for its private label products. The parent company of Fresco y Más, Harveys Supermarket and Winn-Dixie grocery stores has received two Salute to Excellence Awards from the Private Label Manufacturers Association.

PLMA will be announcing the full slate of Salute to Excellence winners at its Private Label Trade Show, which is slated to begin on Jan. 30. The trade event dedicates a section on the floor to its Salute to Excellence winners, along with featuring products in its New Product Expo and Idea Supermarket at the trade show. The annual event hosts exhibitors and educational sessions. 

Touting its Salute to Excellence winners in advance, SEG announced that it won for its SE Grocers Shelled Roasted Salted Pistachios and its  SE Grocers’ Naturally Better Lamb. The accolades for the high-protein salty snack and the all-natural lean meat continue SE Grocers’ impressive run of awards. The company’s own brand dairy products won awards at this years’ World Dairy Expo Championship and its store brand wine program earned several awards this year from the US Wine Ratings competition.

Additionally, the range of SE Grocers items were heavily featured in the Editors' Picks competition this year from Store Brands.

“At Southeastern Grocers, we work diligently to provide private label products that deliver the best possible experience for our customers,” said Gayle Shields, VP of own brands at SE Grocers. “We strive to create amazing, high-quality products at a great value to our customers, and we are thrilled that two of our products have been awarded the Salute of Excellence by the Private Label Manufacturers Association.”

To be nominated, products had to be under retailer-owned brand names, been introduced within the past 12 months, and had to be specific products with only one flavor or item per product.
