Soda sales fall in Philadelphia
Soda sales have taken a hard hit in Philadelphia after the city implemented a tax on the sugary beverages.
According to USA Today, the city’s new tax has caused a “significant and substantial decline” in soda sales. According to a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, neighboring city soda sales have grown.
In total, however, sales fell by 38% even when factoring in the increase of sales in neighboring areas, according to the article.
