President's Choice Lime And Habanero Chili Kettle Cooked Peanuts

We set out to spice up snack time for our Test Drive panelists this month, asking them to sample the new President's Choice Lime and Habanero Chili Kettle Cooked Peanuts from Brampton, Ontario-based Loblaw Companies Ltd. With natural flavors and no artificial colors, these peanuts mesh well with rising consumer interest in natural-type products.

Although peanuts are definitely not a low-calorie snack (these babies pack 310 calories into a third-cup serving!), they are high in protein and fiber. And as a bonus, habanero peppers contain capsaicin, which studies have suggested not only boosts metabolism, but also reduces cravings.

Loblaw sells the peanuts in a 275-gram resealable pouch. We purchased three pouches at a Toronto Loblaws store for $2.99 (Canadian) each.
