Farmington Hills, Mich.-based grocery chain Plum Market will bring a retail store and cafe to the Detroit Pistons’ new training facility, which is currently under construction in Detroit’s New Center neighborhood.

The 5,000-square-foot store will be open to the public and feature a grab-and-go snack bar, a Zingerman’s coffee shop and a casual dining area in which wine and beer will be served, according to a press release. Designed by Detroit-based architectural firm Rossetti, the space will have both indoor and outdoor seating.

In addition to operating the store, Plum Market has signed an agreement to become the food provider for the Detroit Pistons. The company’s culinary team will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner to the Pistons and work with the athletes’ trainers and nutritionists to make sure the meals adhere to each player’s specific diet, the retailer stated in a press release.

The store and cafe are expected to debut in June 2019 — when the Henry Ford Detroit Pistons Performance Center is scheduled to open.
