Pet franchise focused on private label food lands on Franchise 500

Pet Wants, which focuses on private label, specially developed pet food formulas, has earned recognition from Entrepreneur magazine’s Franchise 500. The Cincinnati-based franchise ranked No. 376 on the list, making its debut in the ranking after less than five years in business.

“We are thrilled to have our debut on the Franchise 500 and are pleased that industry leaders like Entrepreneur see the value of our products and the strength of our business model,” said Scott Hoots, president of Pet Wants. “We have grown to more than 100 franchises in less than five years, and we are on track to continue that massive growth.”

The Franchise 500 ranked Pet Wants based on its performance in unit growth, financial strength, stability and brand power. It is the brand power that the company points to as a key differentiator. The retailer’s private label food formulas are made in small batches with ingredients that are enhanced with vitamins and minerals. The company offers blends for dog and cat food, as well as healing salve, calming balm, anti-itch spray, paw wax and more.

“We know that fresh, healthy food can help people live longer, healthier lives. The same is true for our pets,” Hoots said. “At Pet Wants, we provide fresh, high-quality food and products and we offer free, personal delivery. We are here to take the work – and the guesswork – out of finding the best nutrition for your animals.”
